Community Involvement

"Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

In Matthew 22:36-39, a Pharisee asked Jesus what was the great commandment of the Law and Jesus responded with an answer. The second commandment seeks the greatest good for our neighbors but not just our actual neighbors – our community is also our neighbor.

Whether it is a neighboring community, a community in which we do business, or our community right here at home, the term "community" is very important to GOVPROIT. This is why we've chosen to support our community in a variety of ways including participating in charitable drives, sponsoring local youth sports teams & school STEM programs, and supporting organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project.

GOVPROIT is a proud sponsor of the Centreville Robotics Team #5243 for the 2014-2015 school year. The team will design and build a robot to compete in the South Florida Regional Competition at the Broward County Convention Center and the Greater DC Regional at the Patriot Center. The 2015 FRC game is called Recycle Rush.

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. On that date, America watched in horror as approximately 3,000 people died including hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers. Many warriors note a sense of duty to volunteer for the military following these tragic events.

Learn more about the Wounded Warrior Project by visiting the Wounded Warrior Project website.

STEM is the idea of teaching students the four basic academic disciplines – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – using an approach that combines all four subjects into a cohesive learning program instead of teaching each subject separately.

Learn more about STEM by visiting the U.S. Department of Education website.

GOVPROIT is supporting the 15th Annual "Christmas in Dumfries" program on December 6th, 2014. This program was originally initiated by several Dumfries Police Department officers in hopes of making Christmas brighter for many children in Dumfries.

The Town of Dumfries, Virginia will be accepting donations until December 5th, 2014. More information can be found on the Town of Dumfries website.
